As you know there are many changes happening to the entrances/exits at Holy Name of Mary. For this reason it is imperative that we change end of the day pickups. The following changes will take place beginning Thursday, September 6th, 2018.
ALL JK/SK students and primary siblings who are being picked up should be picked up at their classroom or the office doors by parents at 3:20. If there is a Junior or Intermediate sibling in the school going home with the JK/SK student, they shall pick them up in the Kindergarten wing and walk them to car-gate on Harold St.
ALL grade 1- 8 students shall be picked up on Harold Street at 3:20pm. Students will be escorted at 3:20pm and dismissed by a staff member at the car-gate.
If you need to pick up your child early please pick up at the office by 3:00pm in order to relieve congestion due to bussing. We are asking that parents only pick up early if absolutely necessary as it is very disruptive to the children in the class as well as the front office at the busiest time of the day.
Although this is a considerable change to the traffic patterns at our school, the number of students leaving and the congested front foyer presents considerable issues for student safety. We really appreciate your patience in this matter.

Holy Name of Mary Catholic School in Almonte will receive $4.9 million for the construction of a six classroom addition and daycare. “The school currently has five portables on site, and the addition of six classrooms will provide our students with a more energy efficient, modern learning environment. The community is also very excited to be receiving a full-time daycare program for toddlers and preschoolers in a new facility,” noted Board Chair, Todd Lalonde.
“Almonte is a growing community and the addition of permanent classrooms and a daycare is much needed for the school. Our students deserve to learn in permanent facilities, and I know this will help meet both the needs of the community, as well as the students, for the long term,” explained Lanark County Trustee, Nancy Kirby.
The six-classroom addition and daycare are planned to open in late 2018.
